Business FTTC connections provide a significant boost in upload speeds compared the Home FTTC options. Speeds can be up to 10Mbps, but ultimately depend on your line and exchange contention conditions. By delivering a higher upload speed activities such as off-site backups and sending large emails or FTP become far quicker.

As part of the activation cost the visiting engineer will supply an connect an Openreach modem. This is used to connect the line to your network. It should remain powered up and connected at all times.

Router Still Required
Router Still Required

Despite the fact that a modem is being supplied you will still need a router to share the connection on your network. This will differ from an ADSL router, so don't confuse the two. If in doubt contact our support teams who can advise.

Our broadband control panel provides you visibility and control over your connection. Login and you can not only manage your account from a billing perspective, but you can remotely take charge of your connection.

Usage Statistics
Usage Statistics

Our usage statistics are updated every 30 minutes. They can provide a valueable insight into how your connection is performing and how and when it is used. Whether you use this for home or business purposes the results can be very interesting.

In the event you are predicted to exceed your download quotas our system will send you automated emails with options. These include avoiding additional charges, upgrading the cap, and paying for excess usage. We make the process of upgrading / downgrading accounts incredibly easy.

IPv4 and IPv6 Support

We fully support IPv6 on our FTTC platform. You can have both a free IPv4 address and a massive /48 IPv6 range at no additional cost. Only when you require additional IPv4 addresses do additional fees apply.


SMTP Service
SMTP Service

Our SMTP service allows you to send emails via our servers. It can even be used on other ISP's and devices if authenticated with one of our free @icuknet.co.uk addresses.

5 Free @icuknet.co.uk Addresses

You can setup up to 5 email addresses using our icuknet.co.uk domain name. Each mailbox can be accessed from your desktop or via webmail. They are complete with free virus and spam filtering.

All our support operates from our head office in South London. Phone calls are answered by trained and experienced staff who between them have handled 100,000's of broadband queries over the years. If you don't want to call, email in and the same team will reply to you regardless of the question.

Standard Prices

Activation & Migration Costs for FTTC

Activation Charges
FTTC Activation £80 The activation fee covers the cost of a visiting engineer to convert your phone socket to support FTTC and supply you with an Openreach modem to connect.
Fast Track Activation (in addition to activation) £200 If you are in a rush for your broadband connection then there is a fast track order process which is applicable to new activation orders only. Most fast track orders complete within 48 hours of them being placed which can reduce the standard activation time by about 7 days. This fee is in addition to the standard activation cost.

Migration Charges
ADSL to FTTC £80 When you migrate from ADSL an engineer visit will be required to convert your line to support FTTC and connect an Openreach supplied modem. The migration charge covers the engineers time and cost of the modem.
FTTC to FTTC £50 This fee allows you to migrate from one FTTC provide to another using a MAC code.
Reverse Migration (back to ADSL) £40 Should you need to return a FTTC connection back to ADSL then this charge would be applicable.

Modify Charges
Modify Speed £11 Should you wish to upgrade to the Business FTTC packages, and benefit from the higher upload speeds, a one-off modify fee of £11 is applicable.

Hardware
Replacement Openreach Modem £30 This modem is supplied by Openreach and simply connects to your phone line. It doesn't have a management interface to configure settings and shouldn't be confused with a router. In the event the modem needs to be replaced this cost is applicable.
Extension Kit FREE The data extension kit is RJ45 cable supplied by the visiting engineer. It allows you to locate your router in another room, as opposed to housing it next to the Openreach supplied modem which must be located next to the master phone socket.
